Fue un explorador, coleccionista y pol\u00edtico argentino. Fue director del museo de la Sociedad Cient\u00edfica Argentina que estudi\u00f3 la zona en el siglo XIX y defendi\u00f3 el territorio de nuestro pa\u00eds en una disputa de frontera con Chile. En su honor se llama as\u00ed el glaciar Perito Moreno.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Escribe: Mag. Hern\u00e1n Allasia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El concepto de glaciar tiene su origen en el franc\u00e9s \u201cglacier\u201d y da nombre al bloque o estructura de hielo que se suele acumular en ciertas \u00e1reas de las cordilleras, justo encima de la l\u00ednea que marca el l\u00edmite de las nieves perpetuas.
